Massive interest in Right2Change conference means event must be postponed

The conference called by the Right2Change Trade Unions, set to take place on Saturday, 9th September 2017, has been postponed due to overwhelming interest in attendance.

So far more than double the capacity of the original venue has registered to attend so we are now seeking an alternative venue with increased capacity.

It is likely the event will take place in November and a statement will be issued over the coming two weeks once a venue has been secured and date has been set.

Due to the enormous interest in the event, the Right2Change Trade Unions are in the process of appointing a full-time coordinator to work on the project.

Over the coming weeks and months the coordinator will be meeting with political parties, trade unions, civil society organisations and community groups to brief them and work with them to build a plan for a more equal Ireland.

“The overwhelming interest in this event clearly shows the appetite for a new Ireland,” said John Douglas.

He added, “The recent homelessness statistics, which have continued to increase month-on-month, leaving thousands of children living in hotels and B&B’s, along with the record number of people on hospital waiting lists, shows that not only is there a an appetite for a new Ireland, there is a necessity for it.”
